Electrical Apprentice Program

Massey Electric has partnered with Pellissippi State Community College to provide a 4-year Department of Labor Electrical Apprentice program. It is available to all Massey Electric field employees at no cost to them.

Apprentices get a certificate of training from Pellissippi State each year showing the completion of 144+ class hours. At the end of the 4 years, they receive up to 25 credit hours toward an associate’s degree from Pellissippi State.

After completion of the program, apprentices are eligible to receive their Department of Labor certificate and are prepared for their Journeyman Electricians Licensing exam.

Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Massey Electric has partnered with Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Tennessee through the State of Tennessee Department of Labor program for an innovative pre-apprenticeship opportunity for students. Juniors and seniors attending Cleveland High School in the CTE program will follow a curriculum that follows our Electrical Apprenticeship Program.

Once they graduate, Massey Electric will assess the individuals and move them directly into our apprenticeship program.

Partners in Education (Currently in Cleveland only)

Our Cleveland office has partnered with the Partners in Education (PIE) Center in Bradley County through its CTE program. During their junior year, students are trained in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, (MEP) programs, which they will then be able to choose from during their senior year. Those who choose the electrical route can then be funneled directly into our apprenticeship program.

Electronic Systems Technician Program

With the increased demand for networking, smart building, and factories, Massey Electric has recently introduced a 3-year Department of Labor Electronics Systems Technicians program in Data Communications.
