Downtown Morristown’s SkyMart Upgrade

Downtown Morristown, Tennessee is a unique city being home to the only remaining overhead sidewalk system from the 1960’s urban renewal projects. In 2017, Massey Electric worked with Gresham, Smith and Partners to complete a 6-month project for modernizing the elevated sidewalk system. Our crews replaced High-Pressure Sodium lights with LED fixtures and added new decorative poles for the upper sidewalk’s streetlights, installed a new amplified speaker system, and replaced the open access cable tray with a new lay-in PVC ceiling tile system that incorporated lay-in LED lighting on the lower sidewalk.
